  • Use of SCS-certified 100% recycled gold and naturally shed elk antler.

Special Wood Sources

  • Rings crafted from reclaimed whiskey barrel woods from brands such as Jack Daniel's, Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Lagavulin, and Laphroaig.

Customer-Provided Materials

  • Options for customers to provide their own materials for bespoke creations, such as wood from handmade tables, church pews, and fabrics from significant garments.

Our first ring featuring antler was crafted in March 2011.

Baseball Bat

Our first ring crafted from a baseball bat was created in June 2018.

Bike Chain

Our first ring made with bike chain fragments was crafted in August 2015.

Bowstring

We began incorporating bowstring as inlays in August 2024.

Crushed Aquamarine was our first birthstone crushed material in a ring completed June 2013.

Dinosaur Bone Gembone

Our first completion of a Dinosaur Bone inlay in a ring was done in May 2012.

Elk Ivory

Experience the natural elegance of elk ivory in our diverse collection of brooches, pendants, and inlaid jewelry pieces since 2015.

The first ring was in October 2012 with Elk Ivory after a customer asked us to use it in a ring.

Feathers (Non-migratory & Domesticated)

Non-migratory feathers add a delicate touch to light and airy jewelry.

Feathers were first incorporated into our jewelry creations in 2018. Embrace the softness and natural beauty of ethically sourced feather jewelry.

Fishing Line

Each Fishing Line Ring at Jewelry By Johan tells its own story. Infused with sentimental stones and intricate craftsmanship, we blend personal touches with our pioneering technique to create something special just for you.

The first ring made with a Fishing Line completed in April 2018.

Flower Petals

Bring natural beauty into your jewelry with flower petals. Our pendants and rings, adorned with petals, offer elegant and organic designs.

Our first flower petal ring was in honor of a loved one, we were able to use the flowers from the service and made the ring August 2016.

Glow in the Dark Powder (Glowstone)

"Glowstone" to describe glow-in-the-dark products made with photoluminescent rare earth elements or compounds, used in our jewelry.

Our first glow in the dark ring was made with an infinity symbol in October 2014.

Goldstone

Discover the allure of Goldstone, a gem-like material with a starry shimmer, perfect for adding a touch of the universe to your adornment.

We used Goldstone as an inlay in a ring in May 2018.

Golf Tee

Since 2017, golf tees have been creatively incorporated into jewelry, showcasing unique craftsmanship.

Shavings of the Golf Tee was placed as the inlay into a ring in November 2017.

Guitar Strings

We started putting the String inlay around the ring starting in July 2015.

Lapidary

We made our very first lapidary ring (Turquoise) in November 2010.

Memorial (Ashes, Fur, Horse Hoof)

Our Memorial Jewelry that contains Ashes have been incorporated into our jewelry since 2011, offering a meaningful way to memorialize loved ones.

Looking to help a customer memorialize a pet we created our first memorial ring in December 2011.

Metals

We started with working with metals in our early garage Etsy days.

Meteorite

Ancient meteorites are transformed into exquisite rings and pendants.

Our niche in the unique meteorite jewelry started on July 28, 2009 before we officially incorporated in 2010.

Mokume Gane

Back in the old Etsy days we started playing around with Mokume Rings in May 2009.

Moss Agate

We started working with the Moss Agate as inlays on July 2024.

Sand

Encasing sand in our inlays, akin to our memorial jewelry, was a natural progression for us. Thus, we crafted our first ring containing sand in 2016.

Shells, Abalone, and Mother of Pearl

We first combined Mother of Pearl (MOP) in a ring in July 2011.

Stardust (Meteorite Dust)

Shine bright with Stardust jewelry. Our rings and pendants, embedded with genuine meteorite flakes and colored enamel, are celestial and stunning.

When we began incorporating meteorite into our designs, we aimed to make this extraordinary material accessible to all. To achieve this, we introduced genuine meteorite flakes in September 2012, offering a more affordable option without compromising on uniqueness.

Synthetic Opal

Explore the enchanting allure of synthetic opal, a gemstone known for its dazzling play-of-color, offering a sustainable and budget-friendly option for bespoke jewelry pieces.

Synthetic Opal was inlayed into a ring in December 2018.

Turquoise

We inlayed our first turquoise into a ring in November 2010.

In July 2008, we crafted our very first wood ring, which was initially sold through a non-jewelry Etsy shop. After experiencing some early success, we launched our own Etsy shop, Jewelry By Johan, in 2010.
