Send us sand or soil from somewhere that matters and we will set it into a ring. A channel is machined into the band, the sand goes in, and the inlay is sealed under Ring Armor, a clear and hard coating that keeps the grain visible and protects it from wear. Different sand looks completely different in a ring. White beach sand, red desert sand, dark volcanic sand and infield dirt all read their own way.

This is the most common request, usually from a beach that meant something. A proposal, a wedding, or a place a family returned to every summer. A tablespoon or two is plenty, and it does not need to be sifted or dried in any particular way. If you want the sand to read paler or darker, tell us and we will show you options before we build.

Not only for remembering someone

Most sand pieces have nothing to do with loss. They mark a place. The field someone played on, the property a family kept for three generations, the town two people met in. Some couples use sand from their wedding beach in matching bands. It is the same craft as our memorial work, pointed at a place instead of a person.

Sand together with ashes

Sand and cremated ashes can go into the same piece, either blended or in separate channels divided by a metal pinstripe. This comes up when a place and a person are tied together, like a lake someone spent every summer at, or a garden they kept. Sending us your sand

A tablespoon or two, in a sealed bag or a small container. Sand and soil carry no shipping restrictions, so ordinary post is fine. Write your name and order number on the line above our address so we can match it to you. Anything we do not use comes home with the finished piece.

Metals, widths and how long it takes

Titanium, tungsten, black ceramic, black zirconium, Damascus, gold, platinum and sterling silver, from 2mm to 10mm. Production takes about 20 business days once we have your sand and your confirmed size. Rings include our free two-step sizing program, and every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship warranty.
