A Maker's Spirit
From a young age, Johan enjoyed making things. He would often take apart his brand-new toys just to see how they worked, turning them into a pile of parts in the process. This curiosity and desire to create laid the foundation for what would eventually become Jewelry by Johan.
Humble Beginnings
In 2008, Jewelry by Johan was born as a two-person garage operation. Johan focused on making rings while his wife handled the administration and sold their rings on her Etsy account. The business grew steadily, and in 2009, Johan's son-in-law, Kevin, began helping during his school breaks from college. By 2010, Kevin joined the team full-time, bringing new energy and support.
Building an Online Presence
In 2009, amidst her other job commitments, Johan's daughter, Leanne, built the first website for Jewelry by Johan. This online presence helped to expand our reach and showcase our unique creations to a broader audience. By 2013, as orders surged, Leanne joined the company full-time to manage the increasing administrative workload.
Growing the Team
As demand for our custom jewelry continued to grow, we welcomed additional craftsmen and craftswomen to our team. These skilled artisans helped us create more pieces, process orders efficiently, and answer design questions, ensuring that each client received the attention and quality they deserved.

Although we've outgrown our garage, we have never outgrown the neighborly connection we build with our clients.
