Pet memorial jewelry made with ashes, fur or whiskers

You do not need ashes. That is the thing most people are surprised to learn when they arrive. A handful of fur works. So do a few whiskers, a feather, hoof shavings, or a piece of their collar. Whatever you have, we can set it into a ring, a pendant, a bracelet or a keychain, sealed under a clear coating so it stays visible.

Dog memorial jewelry

Ashes, fur, or both. Dog fur reads as texture and color in the inlay rather than as individual strands, which is why a golden retriever and a black lab look completely different in the finished piece. Collar fabric, a tag or a paw print can be worked in as well. Two dogs can go into one piece, side by side or separated by a metal pinstripe.

Cat memorial jewelry

Whiskers are what people ask about most, and yes, we can use them. Most customers send three or four and let us choose. They sit as fine pale lines in the channel. Cat fur and ashes work the same way as for dogs, and colored enamel behind the inlay is a common way to bring in their eye color.

Horses, birds and everything else

Our very first memorial ring was made for a horse, in January 2009. Horse hair and ground hoof both work, and if you do not have hoof we can source it from a local horse rescue. Feathers are set flat under the coating so the barbs stay visible. If you are not sure whether we can use what you have, just ask. The answer is usually yes.

A gift for someone who lost a pet

People buy these for a friend or family member more often than you might think. If you are giving one, a piece that does not need materials up front is the safer choice. Order it, and they can send fur or ashes whenever they feel ready. There is no time limit.

Made in Minnesota, and what happens to your pet's materials

Everything is made by hand in our workshop in Oakdale, Minnesota. When your package arrives we match the name against our records before opening it, label the material straight away, photograph what came in, and keep it in a locked room. Every movement is scanned against your job order number. Anything we do not use comes back in the container you sent it in, in the same box as the finished piece.

Can you get your pet's ashes turned into jewelry?

Yes. We need about two tablespoons, roughly 30 grams, and whatever we do not use comes back to you. The ashes are set into a channel in the piece and sealed under a clear coating, so they stay visible rather than being hidden inside a capsule.

What kind of memorial jewelry can I get for my dog?

Rings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, tie clips, and cufflinks made with ashes, fur, a piece of collar, or a combination of those. Ashes or fur is the most common choice.

What can I do with my deceased pet's fur?

A handful is enough for a piece of jewelry. If you have it in an envelope or a bag, that is fine, and it does not need to be prepared in any particular way. Fur carries no shipping restrictions, so ordinary post works. Ashes are the only material with legal shipping rules attached.

Is there a ring made from pet fur?

Yes, and it is one of the most common things we make. The fur sits in a channel cut into the band and is sealed under a clear coating. Two different fur colors can go in the same ring, either in separate inlays or divided within one.

Can I put my cat's whiskers in a necklace?

Yes. Most people send three or four whiskers and we choose which ones sit best. They can go in on their own, or alongside fur or ashes.

Is pet ashes jewelry safe to wear?

Yes. Cremated remains are inert mineral material and are sterile after cremation. In our pieces they are fully sealed under a protective coating, so nothing is ever exposed to your skin.

What pets do you work with?

We make memorial jewelry for cats, dogs, birds, horses, and more. While we most commonly work with ashes and fur, we've made horse memorial jewelry with hooves and bird memorial jewelry with feathers on multiple occasions.

What if my pet is still with me but I want to be ready?

You can send their fur now. Plenty of people do, and it is far easier to collect while they are alive than afterwards. We will hold it, or set it into a piece whenever you feel ready.
