Jewelry by Johan offers a HUGE selection of hardwood options for our ring designs OR you can supply your own specimen for us to use. You can view the complete list of wood options with images.

By ordering a wood ring from JBJ, you’re not only going to end up with a stunning, completely customized wedding band, but you’ll also be doing your part to reuse and recycle one of the most beautiful elements that our earth has to offer. Besides being eco-friendly, wood is a hypoallergenic option.

FUN FACT: Wood is the traditional 5th wedding anniversary gift. Presents made from wood symbolize the growth of the marriage that has yet to come.

If you see a wood ring design you like, but would prefer a different wood type to be used, no problem! There is no additional service cost for changing the wood. However, if you change to an Exotic or Premium Wood, there will be an up-charge as these are more costly and difficult to source. Vice versa, cost goes down if you opt for non exotic or non premium woods. See our wood choices page for a complete photo list of wood options.

Our proprietary Ring Armor clear coating is applied on all wood in our rings and it protects it from water, UV rays, and the typical nicks and scratches that can occur from everyday wear. It preserves the natural beauty of the wood while providing durability and peace of mind. Learn more about how to care for your wood ring on our Ring Care page. In the uncommon event you notice your coating is damaged or compromised in any way, send it back to us and we'll repair the coating for free (your only cost is shipping).

As you know, we can make your ring out of just about anything here at Jewelry by Johan. If you want your ring to be extra special and sentimental, you can send us your own wood sample to use in your ring. We have had customers send us pieces of wood from a special tree in the yard and a piece of siding from a family cabin that was a favorite place from childhood. The requirements for supplying your own wood are pretty minimal:

Width of 1.5″ with minimum length of 3″

Dry

Free of checks and cracks
